Here’s the thing. On my never ending quest to search for a boyfriend (I don’t have a type, but I’m fussy. Understand that and you have sussed the reason why I’m single) I have asked many boy*SPACE*friends what they like in women. If you think all men like women with big boobs, bums, tiny waists, long hair… You’re wrong my pretty friends.

Here’s the secret, they all like different kinds of women! Most like them to go in and out, but in varying degrees. Some don’t honestly have a type and as long as they think you’re pretty and nice and you can fill their endless stomachs with food, then you’re perfect.

However! They all say the same thing about makeup- too much makeup is a huge no-no.

I CHALLENGE YOU, YOUNG LADY!
Instead of doing you’re normal makeup routine, think of something you can take away. What is your best facial feature?
Mine is my eyelashes. I have long, curled eyelashes. I thought of a way to reduce my makeup, but keep the lovely femininity makeup does to my eyes and face. How can you accentuate your best features without loads of makeup?

1. Put on as little foundation as you possibly can after moisturising. Set with a translucent powder.

2. Using a taupe shade, darken your sockets- this will actually help your eyelashes to look fuller! Leave the eyelid bare or use a light pink shade.

3. Using the smallest bit of eyeliner, line the outer lash line on the top with a brown eyeliner and then blend in slightly. No more eyeliner. That is it.

4. Add mascara and a bit of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Blush makes me look happy.

You can add white eyeliner to really open up your eyes on the bottom waterline and inner corners.

Result: barely any makeup! I think I can actually see the colour of my eyes much better from a distance.

I feel actually quite liberated and free. Bra-burning for all!!! Just off to my local meadow in a big hippie dress to pick flowers and sing to sparrows and magpies.

It’s been a while! Lots of University assignments coupled with work has meant my little fashion updates have been very scarce. I’m back for the summer, by starting off with a little post about a new tool I found on ASOS.

Since Uni has been out, I’ve been creating outfits, yay! YES I’VE BEEN THAT BORED. But don’t knock it. It’s fantastically fun and you get to play with a HUGE mixture of brands and designers.

This outfit is my homage to the Jubilee, subtle, but stylish and very British!

…all of your friends have lovely, doting boyfriends and are incredibly happy and good for them. Brilliant. Only you are a lonely singleton and love being bought flowers.

DON’T BE DEPRESSED! There are lots of us around and chances are, it will happen to you one day. As long as you want to be in a long relationship and wave goodbye to the ones who are dicks then you will find someone.

Don’t get hung up on valentines’ day! When it does happen it will be all the sweeter.

I just bought my flatmates flowers and chocolate and I believe they’re buying me some too tomorrow. Find your single friends and make a pact! It’s always funny.

Besides, there will be many other times of the year you will be extremely happy. SO don’t fret.

For its upcoming issue, Glamour surveyed readers on their thoughts about the digital manipulation of models (and celebrities) that appear in fashion magazine.

Cindi Leive, Glamour Editor-in-Chief, notes that with 70 iPhone apps on the market that let us “retouch” ourselves, more and more of us are more and more comfortable with a bit of digital nip and tuck.

But, she writes, there are limits and Glamour plans “to take a stronger role in setting ours.”

Retouching is like tequila. Sure, a little makes everybody look better. But go too far and you feel like puking. For years now, the media has struggled with how best to strike that pleasantly Cuervo-goggled balance, swinging wildly between science fiction-level Photoshopping and the self-congratulatorily unaltered. But as excessively sweetened-up images have come under increasing scrutiny – and been flat-out banned in extreme cases — the industry is beginning to take its cue from the unlikeliest of sources: its audience. This week, Glamour magazine revealed what happened when it asked its readers “How much is too much?” retouching. And the over 1,000 reader responses paint an intriguing picture of how deep we’re willing to go into the land of altered images.

I was at work in East London until half-midnight this morning and because my train had stopped running (why does the London Underground close? It would make more sense if it was open 24 hours) I decided that finding the correct Night Bus back to my house was just effort and decided to get a cab ride home. £50 later and I’m tucked up in my bed exhausted. Journey was cool though, we went past the Natural History Museum, Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch… I’d actually forgotten how wonderful it is to live in London. Going past these places at night you got to see another side to these big important buildings. No tourists to distract you, it was a bit like seeing them how they really are without the crowds of people from across the globe. Buckingham Palace when it’s not all lit up is actually stunning.

Anyway, chilling out today and thinking about my next hair tutorial. :)
